KeySteps@JC

Introduction

"KeySteps@JC" Project  is created and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, and co-created by City University of Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong, The University of Hong Kong, The Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Christian Service,  The Tsung Tsin Mission of Hong Kong Social Service and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.  Since its launch in 2017, the Project has adopted a “health-education-welfare” multidisciplinary model to holistically support children from underprivileged background, through empowerment of their parents, enhancement of their school environment and engagement with their local community with the KeySteps@JC Community Hubs.

Building on past learnings, Phase Two of the Project commencing in 2022 bids to extend this multidisciplinary support through KeySteps@JC Community Hubs at five districts including Kowloon City, Sham Shui Po, Shatin, Tuen Mun and Yuen Long, consolidating a holistic model to set stronger foundation for children from underprivileged background. By 2027, not only does the Project target to benefit 70,000 kindergarten children and their families, around 280 kindergartens and over 900 early childhood professionals, it also aims to establish some unique district-based child-centered service models for sector adoption as well as policy reference.
